Honor the Dead by Helping the Living

Over 200 years the Armed Forces have been keeping this nation free. Some gave their life. Veteran's Day is coming so give them and the servicemen and women a Big Thanks. I also want to thank everyone for contributions for the servicemen that were wounded. Now they can wear sweat pants and T-shirts instead of hospital gowns and blankets to keep them warm. Thanks again for honoring the dead.

In December the shopping cart will be set out again. This time for Christmas toys for needy children in our area. So when you go Christmas shopping, pick up an extra toy for our children.

Now I need your help with the new bill of small games of chance. The House passed the bill but the Senate is not bringing this bill up to be voted on. I would like everyone to make a phone call to tell the senators to bring this bill to a vote. Phone number is State Capital Dept. of Senate 717-787-7163.

If you have not paid your dues, please pay them before the first of the year.

Holiday season is coming on fast, so I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.

Freedom is not free. Please remember our servicemen and women at home and abroad in our prayers so others can enjoy freedom like we do.
 

LADIES AUXILIARY INFORMATION

On behalf of the Ladies of the Auxiliary, as the new president, I would like to thank everyone for their support and donations throughout the year. We thank you for your donations for the Dime-A-Day for cancer awareness month during October. We are also grateful for the blankets, T-shirts, and sweat pants for the veterans at the VA Center. I am certain that they will be greatly appreciated. As you may not know, these items are an ongoing request as our many veterans are in constant need through the years to come.

The Ladies Auxiliary will have lottery tickets for the month of February, as we do each year, for a $5 donation. Any Auxiliary member who may be interested in helping with this project, please see me or Chloe Hawbaker for a pack of tickets.

I wish you all a very Happy Holiday season and let's remember our brave men and women who are risking their all for our freedom. Keep them always in your thoughts and prayers throughout the year.

We welcome and encourage any Auxiliary members to attend our meetings at the Post every third Monday of the month. It would be nice to see some new faces! Let's not forget that all membership dues must be paid by December 31 st, 2009.
I'll sign off with a "Thank You" to my officers and committee chairmen for their support in my first three months as president.
