COMMANDERS CORNER

The holidays are behind us and we are looking forward to Spring. Please continue to support the club. Our managers are working very hard on some upcoming special events. Please give your support to make them a huge success.

Please make note of upcoming events in managers section. We thank Steve for his efforts to make our club even better.

Please join the VFW and American Legion on Memorial Day for a very nice program at the cemetery and a parade prior to the program. Remember our Veterans and those currently serving our country so we can continue to be free.

Thanks for the donation of socks for the Homeless Veterans. They were taken to our Mid Winter Conference at Gettysburg and department will distribute them as needed.

LADIES AUXILIARY INFORMATION

Hello. I'd like to thank everyone for their participation in our bake sale at the Christmas party. We made $310.00.

As of the end of December, our membership standing was 95%. If you've neglected to pay your dues for 2011, please do so as soon as possible. We need to be at 100% by the end of February.

Congratulations to Kaylee Marie Griffith who took 2nd place in the Patriots Pen program. Kaylee is a student at James Buchanan Middle School.

Having a few months of cold weather left is a perfect time to clean out unwanted items to donate for our Poppy Night. A reminder that May is Poppy Month and our Poppy Night will be on June 5, 2011. Get out those favorite recipes so we have plenty of baked goods for our silent auction. This event is the Auxiliary's biggest fundraiser and we do appreciate your support.

Good luck to all on the February lottery tickets and think spring.

  May God Bless,
Debra Wenger, Auxiliary President

Manager's Corner

I want to extend a warm sincere thank you to the club community for the warm welcome I have received over the past few months. As I stated in the last newsletter, I will do my best to make this club a strong foundation in the community, but I cannot do this alone. I need your help in the journey of rebuilding and bringing the club back where it belongs, in the eyes of the members and the community.

As you already noticed, we have added a few new features to the club. This was done so the members and guest can come in and enjoy watching the sporting events in comfort. With your support, I know we can do more. In addition, there will be more upcoming live entertainment that will feature a variety of bands to keep the club atmosphere fresh.

I am doing my best to meet each of you on a personal level. However, if I have not done so, please forgive me. 1 will do my'best to ensure I meet and chat with all the club members and guests. Once again, thank you for your support

  Best Regards,
Steve McCarthy, Club Manager
